We conducted an interactive session on Kolkata’s native, satirical style of art known as Kalighat paintings. Hosted in collaboration with the Ekibeki Association, the three-hour session was led by the renowned artists Radha and Tagar Chitrakari, from Medinipur district in Bengal. The workshop featured discussions on the evolution and influence of the art form over the years, and allowed participants the chance to learn Kalighat drawing and painting techniques. The attendees were given the opportunity to create their own paintings, using organic colours made from turmeric, local flowers, and leaves boiled in coconut shells with a special glue.
