Shibani Jain

Shibani Dasgupta Jain is a designer and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the design, arts, and crafts industry. After completing her studies at NID Ahmedabad, she played a crucial role as the Head of Design at a Tata Group Company, where she contributed to the development of computer-based learning and UX/UI design.

Driven by her passion for art and desire to work with artisans, Shibani ventured into the dotcom space and founded Crafts bridge, one of the earliest platforms focused on promoting crafts. In 2010, she established Baaya Design, a design studio and store based in Mumbai. As the founder, Shibani combines her expertise in design with her love for traditional art forms to create highly innovative and contemporary work. Baaya Design offers a wide range of art solutions and products for interior, for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.

Shibani has worked on prestigious projects and partnered with renowned clients, including the Statue of Equality Pavilion, JSW Dolvi Hospital, Tata Bombay House, TCS, Hyatt Regency, Oberoi Group, and Axis Bank. She has also worked to provide income opportunities for talented artisans while preserving and reviving India’s age-old skills.

In addition to her professional achievements, Shibani is an avid reader, traveler and collector of art and curios from around the world. She draws inspiration from the diverse range of art and craft forms found in India and believes in showcasing these traditional techniques in contemporary, premium environments. Through her work, Shibani aims to educate urban audiences about the value of crafts and promote a connection to Indian culture.

Recognized for her outstanding contributions to the arts and crafts industry, Shibani has received numerous awards, including India's Best Spatial Design Studio in 2020 by Pool Magazine, the IID Global Award as Leading Woman in Arts & Crafts and the Business World Award as Most Remarlable Woman of the year (2019). She is also actively involved in philanthropic endeavors as a co-founder and trustee of Catalysts for Social Action and as the founder-director of Hand for Handmade, an association that supports stakeholders in the handmade/craft space in India.

Vipul Jain

Vipul Jain is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. After 6 years with the Tata Administrative Service (TAS), he co-founded Kale Consultants (now NSE: Accelya) and led the company as MD/CEO for over two decades. The company is a global leader in financial solutions for the airline industry.

Vipul is Chairman and Co-founder of Kale Logistics, a software firm focused on the global logistics industry. He has co-founded Catalysts for Social Action, a non-profit working for children in need of care and protection. He is on the Board of Hand for Handmade Foundation and Action Against Hunger. He has co-founded Jabarkhet Nature Park, one of the first private nature reserves in India.
