Description
Patua/Pattachitra is a very interesting art form, which combines storytelling, singing and painting. The art comes from the rural villages of West Bengal. Originally, they were painted as scrolls and were visual accompaniments to stories told through songs and ballads. Delightful and earthy, these paintings reflect the ancient Indian tradition of teaching the scriptures and morals through storytelling. The artwork is characterized by folksy, bold styling and large-sized almond shaped eyes
