L Ganesha On Leather 10x10

Shadow puppets of Andhra Pradesh are made of translucent leather. The details are painted in bright colours and perforations are added. These are used to tel  Hindu Mythological stories such as Ramayana and Mahabharata in the form of puppet theatre, also known as Tolubommalata which was developed in the 16th century under the patronage of Vijayanagara rulers.There are about 60 families engaged in this craft. They have a wider range of products- from lampshades to door hanging and wall hangings.
