Madhubani art is believed to date back to the times of the Ramayana. It is believed that King Janak asked artists to immortalize. Sita’s wedding to Ram through this art. Madhubani has its roots in the Mithila region of Bihar and is also practiced in Nepal. Folk art is practiced on mud walls or the floors of homes and mostly depicts man’s association 
with nature as well as deities from the ancient epics. Double-line silhouettes and patterns within forms characterize this art form.
