In April 2023, Baaya Design unveiled the latest project for The International Management Development Centre (IMDC) at IIM Ahmedabad—a collection of nine artworks. The series includes four futurescape interpretations and five narratives alongside a sculpture contributed by national award-winning artists.

Baaya Design, in a seminal partnership with the IIM Ahmedabad, has embarked on an artful journey towards envisioning the future. The project is a thought-provoking curation of artworks that are a mix of futuristic concepts and traditional Indian craftsmanship, aimed at inspiring the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.

IIMA commissioned Baaya Design to create nine artworks for the IMDC, blending futuristic concepts with traditional Indian craftsmanship. The artworks should address themes like sustainability, climate change, and the intersection of technology and nature. Each piece aims to inspire reflection and conversation, combining cultural heritage with modern, thought-provoking narratives.

Concept: This grand mural spans 20×12 ft, weighing nearly 400 kg, and combines mixed media with traditional Indian crafts. It depicts a world where humans and robots coexist, with humans having bionic enhancements and forming emotional bonds with robots. The artwork integrates electronic waste, mirror work, and Lippankam, resonating with the IIMA’s architecture and the materials of tomorrow’s edifices.

Concept: The Dance of Life sculpture is a testimony to the harmonious coexistence of life forces. Featuring traditional textile motifs from Gujarat, it incorporates Ikat, Bandhni, Kutch embroidery, and Ajrakh block print in an elaborate ceramic tile mosaic. It underscores the enduring significance of cultural roots in shaping our future.ic waste, mirror work, and Lippankam, resonating with the IIMA’s architecture and the materials of tomorrow’s edifices.
