About the Project
The Hyatt Regency Dehradun, nestled in the serene foothills of the Himalayas, offers guests an experience of luxury intertwined with nature. Baaya Design, working with AND Studio, was entrusted with the task of infusing the interiors of this prestigious hotel with a unique blend of artistic elements and nature-inspired motifs. The result is a space that resonates with the natural beauty surrounding it while exuding a sense of warmth and sophistication.
Brief
To create a welcoming entrance. The entrance to the hotel had to make a strong first impression, reflecting both luxury and connection to natural surroundings.
To incorporate nature-inspired art. The design aimed to bring the outside environment into the hotel, using natural materials and motifs inspired by the local landscape.
To craft unique artworks. Each piece was to be a conversation starter, contributing to the overall story of the hotel’s interior design.
Design Elements
Pinecone Sculptures at the Ground Floor Lobby
Reflecting the pine tree dotted landscape of Dehradun’s, Baaya Design crafted a life-sized pinecone sculpture. Made from natural teakwood with meticulous detailing, this is a warm-toned accent that adds rustic charm to the hotel’s urban design. It pays homage to the local flora, and also serves as a focal point in the hotel’s lobby.The statue of a meditating Buddha in marble stands guard at the villa. The handcrafted, lifelike sculpture brings positive energy to the home.
Growth Rings for Lounge Entrance, Ground Floor Lobby
The door of the Pinnacle Lounge is an artistic masterpiece, where various forms converge to evoke a lasting first impression. The design features brass-beaten rings inlaid into engraved, durable wood. The rings with their soothing and welcoming form, set the tone perfectly for the luxury and comfort that awaits inside.
Resin & Wood Wall Mural, Ground Floor, All Day Dining
One of the standout features of the interior styling is a large wall mural composed of saw-cut bark of wood preserved in transparent resin. A visual delight, the artwork is also a tactile experience, inviting guests to connect with natural textures. The mural is mounted on a striking wooden backing, which accentuates its organic essence and adds depth to the space.
